Moving preparation and packing:

  • Reserve parking in front of the old and new house or ask the police to prohibit parking if it is a public place
  • Do not overload boxes but fill them properly
  • Indicate the contents of packages and their fragility/resistance (fragile or other)
  • Prepare plants for the move, water them only at the destination
  • Unplug and defrost the refrigerator and freezer

Announce your change of address by mail:

  • the bank and the post office
  • the municipal authorities (residents' registration).
  • the electricity, water and gas suppliers.
  • the daycare, kindergarten, school.
  • the health insurance fund and other insurances
  • the subscription providers (magazines and newspapers, services, …)
  • the home delivery services
  • Serafe for radio and television
  • the AVS compensation office (self-employed and retirees)
  • the vehicle registration office
  • submit a mail forwarding request at your Post Office
  • have identity documents updated (if necessary)
